Observation 116021: Hericium erinaceus (Bull.) Pers.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: This was found growing about 15’ above ground level on a living tree. Unable to get any closer photos or remove for further observation. Appeared to be a polypore from a distance. But when I viewed the photo and zoomed in I was able to see the teeth beneath. May not be able to get a specific identification with so little to go on. It seemed large and could be seen a good distance away, but really not able to put a size on it.
