Observation 11607: Cortinarius (Pers.) Gray

When: 2008-09-25

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

Definitely a cort, and one of the varieties with a large bulbous, crooked underground base of the stem.

Colors paler than the C. alboviolaceus that is all over the same part of the woods like a rash right now.
