Observation 116441: Psathyrella (Fr.) Quél.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Habitat: i found those on a path in the semi tropical jungle. i think many horse/cows walk around there. there was a bunch of dead wood, grass. etc
this was in Vilcabamba, Ecuador (south near the peru border)

i have a specimen that looks younger (found in nearby in same environment). the gills look paller brown where as he older specimen have much browner gills

about 10cm length, 2-3mm diameter, beige in color

7-10cm diameter, brownish in the center then beige and then dark on the outside. it’s conical convex mexican hat style

Spore print color:
it looks brown. i can provide picture

didn’t notice

Other information:
i suspect http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panaeolus_cinctulus but can’t be really sure

i’m kind of traveling from mexico to argentina and i do a fair bit of trecking in remote locations (the amazon in peru soon)

i’m gonna be honest and was looking for subcubanos and then all of the sudden i was taking photos of many different types of mushrooms

i have a bunch more photos from today. i guess i can post them up but i don’t really know what they are or anything

i’ll try to post them now
