one has a stem & gills and the other is just a ball

this thing didn’t have gill or stem. it was like a ball. i ripped it out. the stem was kind of its root (underground) and almost the same size as the ball

reminded me of some white mushroom we’d find on the north coast of quebec and was edible but much bigger
