When: 2012-11-05

Collection location: Jedediah Smith State Park, Del Norte Co., California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Ron Pastorino (Ronpast)

Specimen available

These were growing among Sitka spruce.
Caps up to 6.9 cm across.
Spores were ~ 8.0-8.9 X 5.1-6.1 microns, ellipsoid and moderately rough.
They dried to a dark brown(not blackish) color(stems lighter) and the roughness of the spores seems to eliminate C. brunneus.
