Recognized by sight: I don’t know about the genus for sure, but whatever this is, it’s common on Eucalyptus seed pods in Central CA, especially those that have been embedded in the duff for a year or two

I thought Rutstroemia as well.

You got asci in your photo Deb, but not sure if there are mature spores. Go ahead and fully dry the whole thing and you can get it to me whenever.

are you coming to Anne Pringle’s seminar for BAMS on December 6? I can wait ’til then! ;)
