Substrate: twig on dead bush, probably Quilemba Chuquicaya avelloneda.
Habitat: Shrub steppe, primariy C avelloneda, Ephedra sp., Lycium chilensis. Near coast, approximately 200m from coast. Fossilized sea shells abundant, soil silty, white. Windy. Used to be grazing land for sheep until the ¨reserve¨:http://www.fvsa.org.ar/reservasanpablo/es/index.html was founded 7 years ago.
Lichen associations: another Usnea sp. with tan apothecia; Teloschistes chrysopthalmus, a Ramalina sp. with laminal apothecia, a black globose apothecia crust, a Candelariella sp., a Phsycia sp. and two green foliose lichen as seen on the twig (K-,C-,KC+red-brown-ambiguous) one with laminal soredia and one without.
