you can see the tan cap skin peeking out where the veil is breaking.
One of the gemmatoid critters, most likely.

It seems that every time I find Boletus edulis I also find Amanita muscaria. Not necessarily at the same time but under the same pine trees. This year the Boletes are out before the Amanitas.
