Found in Deodor cedar and Port Orford cedar overstory; Vine maple, Tall Oregon grape, Woods violet, Oceanspray and Snowberry understory.


Thin, hair-like white fibrils or scales on cap.
Black spores that deliquesce, finally dropping off edges of gills.
Stipe white, narrow at cap confluence, becoming larger and thicker toward the base of the stipe.
Several specimens in various stages of development among Wood violet.
Very young developing caps.

Recognized by sight: Checked other Coprinopsis obs. on MO first. seems to match this species well, especially the small fibrous scales on the cap, plus the upturned edges in age.
