Observation 11740: Gloeophyllum sepiarium (Wulfen) P. Karst.

When: 2008-09-29

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

A gilled polypore. One conk fresh (first three pictures), one older (next two), and one photo of both ages together. On a fallen pine branch. Gills become mazelike pores near point of attachment on the older specimen. Also, both specimens that I picked were cardboard/cork consistency, typical of polypores.
