These truffles were found in a mixed conifer forest at the base of a large cedar. The trees in a 60 ft. radius included cedar, douglas fir, ponderosa pine,sugar pine, and black oak.

The first habitat photo faces north, then east, south, and west.

Nice find of an unusual Rhizopogon species. I haven’t keyed it out but it is not one of the usual suspects.
