Observation 11784: Russula Pers.

When: 2008-09-29

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

It’s a Russula, found in open dampish mixed woods close to the edge. Too much of the cap cuticle is ravaged to tell for sure if it was another R. fragilis.

It was on the large size for that species, though, close to the size of my hand.
