Observation 117911: Tricholomopsis sulphureoides (Peck) Singer

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found under English laurel, on ground, near Lodgepole pine. Grounds are heavily mulched with bark mulch.


Light brown fibrils on cap. Cap mostly sulphur-yellow, but toning to rouge near center.
Gills attached to stipe.
Annlus barely visible. Stipe with white fibrils.
Gills light yellow, cap flesh yellow and a little granular.

Recognized by sight: Everything matches Tricholomopsis save one: growing on ground under an English laurel. While there may have been woody debris nearby, I didn’t notice it.
