Notes: Collection will be sent to Dr. Trappe at Oregon State University, for including in the OSU Herbarium. Fd. in close proximity to both Noble fir and Western hemlock, but probably under a root of Noble fir. The fresh aroma of this truffle is strong and very pleasant: like maple syrup or a fresh maple bar. The aroma decreased after holding it in my hand, but the aroma of maple syrup is still present 5 hours after collecting it.
