is a temperate species, or so some references would have us believe. Quite honestly, I can’t make up or down of these tropical-subtropical, shaggy, striate/plicate Cyathus. hopefully my incoming copy of Brodie’s “The Bird’s Nest Fungi” will help. in the meantime, a species list has been established for all Neotropical, hairy + non-smooth Cyathus spp., of which this observation is a member.
