I measured the spores again from a spore print

They are 2.5 – 3 × 7 – 8, smooth, cylindrical.

It must have been contaminated (well, old polypores usually are..).

Did you check for amyloid cystidia?

My friends say it smells like oil based paint, or more precisely, fiberglass resin.

It does have an odor

But I don’t know how to describe it. It’s somewhat of a chemical-like odor, like a mild musty perfume. Maybe like dried berries in a chinese market.
