Genus recognized by monocentric, eucarpic thalli. They’re supposed to be non-operculate and have a relatively developed rhizoid system, distinguishing it from look-alike genera, but the features are subtle.
Normally they grow on pollen grains, but I have them on an agar plate.I showed (single anterior flagellated) zoospore release, which are the white fuzzes in the background.
