Notes: Growing from a large mycelial mass in leaves/needles debris. Hygrophanous. Odor mild, taste “fungal”.
Spores pip-shaped and ellipsoid, 5-7 × 3.5-4 microns. Basidia about 40 microns, thin. Cheilocystidia similar (if what I’m seeing are cheilocystia at all). Pleurocystidia absent.
No staining on cap or stem under KOH; eliminates Gymnopus erithropus.
