Notes: SUBSTRATE Aspicilia cuprea on granite outcrop in mixed forest on north-facing slope of canyon; ASPECT shaded; NOTES tiny black dots on surface of galls in thallus of Aspicilia, perithecia and pycnidia scattered together on galls globose to elongate vertically penetrating into algal layer, perithecial wall brown-black near top and hyaline below, all I- (lugol’s after K and water) or brownish, asci ~100 µm long cylindrical with somewhat thickened end but thin walls, 3-4 µm unevenly thick periphyses unbranched, lower part of perithecium inspersed; SPORES 8 per ascus, tear-shaped, hyaline, smooth to lightly textured, septate, ~20 × 8 µm, pycnidia much more common, conidia ~5-7 × 1 µm fusiform.

Maybe Lichenochora or Stigmidium? Very similar to Lichenochora verrucicola, but with septate spores and much shorter conidia.
