There are some mushrooms picked up by a friend I think in oak/acacia forest.

I dont know if they grow on wood.

Is that somebody gave to my mom to prepare for winter and they are already in jars.

That person said they are edible because he harvest mushrooms all the time.

You might check descriptions of Clitocybe gibba or Lepista flaccida, as a preliminary guess.

Other things to notice: when they break (when fresh), do they exude a milky latex?
are they brittle, i.e. do they break easily? Or flexible?
When you place them on a white piece of paper, what color spore print do they make?
