Notes: My neighbor had to get rid of a large Bigleaf maple tree 3 years ago. I knew at the time a flush of Armillaria mellea was likely to happen, so have been expecting it for some time now. Here they are.

Recognized by sight: Growing on a 3-year-old Bigleaf maple (Acer macrophyllum) stump which was ground 2 years ago. Growing both from the last of the stump plus some of the larger roots.
