Observation 119884: Strophariaceae sensu lato

Specimen available

Found at base of maple tree; shows a clumped/caespitose habit; Rust/orange spore print

Pileus: Has a convex to uplifted shape; Breath of 4 cm; Has a light brown to caramel color; surface is smooth but sticky in the center; Flesh is firm with a greyish yellow to white color and up to 1 cm thickness.

Hymenophore: Has an adnate attachement; Gills are off-white with a caramel colored even edge. Length is about 1.7 cm and darkens when bruised. Has a regular spacing about 1 mm apart and 2 tiered lamellulae present.

Stipe: Has a flared hollow shape that is 2.5 cm x (.3 – .6) cm. Color gradients from off-white at the top to caramel at the middle and then dark brown at the bottom.
