Used references: Arora, Mushrooms Demystified; photos from the North American Truffling Society. Arcangeliella is a seequestrate fungi related to the Russulas. The spores are formed inside of enclosed gills, usually found epigeous (above ground), and often have distinctive aromas. The aromas help small mammals and rodents to find, eat, and disperse the spores in their feces.
