Large fruiting in woods, growing in the ground. Young caps white, aging to light brown, making fibrils more apparent. Edge of cap bruises light yellow briefly. Spore print dark brown. End of stem bruises very lightly yellow. Odor of crushed stipe end was very slightly phenolic.
Added observations: Went back for in situ photos. Young fresh mushroom stained bright yellow at base of stipe; similar but duller stain on bruised cap, not just at margin. Bruised part of cap phenolic. Younger caps shaped like marshmallows.
