Cap, 4-9cm wide, convex, uneven, pinkish fading grayish, dry , subvelutinous. Flesh white, slight bluing in cap.
Stalk 4-6cm long , .75-1.5cm thick, equal or with taper at bottom, glabrous, yellowish-white with red bloom at apex and yellow at base.
Pores bright yellow when young, becoming dingy yellow, staining blue slowly (10-15 seconds)
Odor and taste not distinctive.
Growing under White Pine and Hemlock.
