Observation 121681: Boletus subtomentosus L.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Fruiting under oaks in duff with nearby blewits. Cap and pores slowly stain blue when cut. Blue stain eventually lightens and turns yellow (note bug-eaten cap in photo). Stalk stained yellow at base, as in photo. Stalk has palpable vertical ridges; red toward apex, very red scurf below.
Spore print spare but appears dark olive-brown.

I can use all the help I can get. I’m confused on this id because of the red at the stipe’s apex and the red spots below (scurfiness?)
