to Alan, “The pseudorhiza isn’t well reported in the literature, but it’s often there. It usually breaks off when you pick the mushroom so it’s not usually seen.” I have found C. calyptratus before, but only in the fully mature state where it looks nothing like this so I wouldn’t know.
