Photos show fruiting structures of this lichen, which arrise over 1cm above a mostly scruffy blackish base. Fruiting structure is gray-white with white patches on the (stem?); interior of fruiting body is brown and cup-shaped. Looks like this arrises from a much more extensive black surfaced lichen (in background) with white reverse. Growing on a lava rock used as a retaining wall.
