Color of tarda is quite variable.

In one small area of my backyard, I have collected specimens with color ranging from very light tan, brownish, lilac, and even vividly purple. The thin fibrous stipe which is concolorous with the cap supports a tarda proposal.

I have run across some information which suggests that C. tarda and L. sordida may be synonyms, but I am not certain of this.

It could be Clitocybe tarda by google images photos, in fact it was my first guess until I found this picture:

Ho… I didn’t know that Lepista sordida was a synonim of Clitocybe tarda. The photo of the stem in not clear, but the stem is thin and of the same color of the exterior color of the cap. Though tough, the specimen was “slim”, cap about to 4 cm, stem width 0.4/0.5 cm. Do you still think it fits? I tought that Lepista sordida had violet/blue stem…

Maybe it’s only because I see…

so many Clitocybe tarda on my lawn every fall. But the cap in this obs reminds me of this type. I believe the European version of C. tarda (same species?) is called Lepista sordida.

could it be a Clitocybe?

A C. hygrophanous like C. fragrans, for example.

From I remember…

It was tough, not fragile. I don´t remember the underside. Cap: bicolor, margin striate, slightly umbonate, sorry.

It’s an old photo…

I wasn’t so careful at that time. even today, sometimes I forget to, but I’m making an effort to be methodic.

Why no gill shot? Looks like Panaeolina.
