Observation 12421: Cortinarius vanduzerensis A.H. Sm. & Trappe

When: 2008-10-12

Collection location: Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

Identification by Dr. Lorelei Norvell, assisted by Dr. Judy Rogers. The species epithet vanduzerensis refers, I believe, to the Vanduzer Corridor, an area in the Coast Range mountains, between Salem and Lincoln City, Oregon. I know that Adrian Beyerle has found this Cortinarius several times at that location, at least.
