says the current genus for furfuracea is Hymenopellis. But an article I just read in FUNGI magazine says molecular evidence points toward Oudemansiella as the correct genus. So there may be yet another genus change for these “Rooting Collybias”.

I think the main issue in this observation is whether the correct species name is furfuracea. See my original comment.

These look to be fairly small,

with slender stipes that don’t show a lot of ornamentation. I think microscopy is necessary to rule out H. megalospora. There are a few additional NA species in this genus.
