At least I believe I have never seen it! My collections invariably show the red/pink/tan scaber-like dots on the stipe. I suppose macro variations may occur regionally.

Color scheme for this one is similar to chromapes.

Never say never. H. chromapes sometimes does have a reticulate stipe. Usually it does not.

never has a reticulate stipe. The incomplete/broken reticulations seen on this specimen seem unusual for either of the two Retiboletus species I know here in eastern NA.
