No herbarium specimen

Notes: I’m not positive that this is a lichen, but it’s the most likely thing I can think of. Lichen is powdery white, granulate, covering a relatively small area of bark and moss on a Red alder tree. Sandy/grainy to the touch. Any tiny grain tends to stick to anything it comes in contact with.
