I have personally seen what was apparently Amanita daucipes in Nanchititla State Park,

estado de México. Whether it is genetically the same as the daucipes we find in the eastern U.S., I don’t know; however, the morphology is extremely similar. I believe the dried specimen I saw may be in the herbarium in at the state university in Toluca.
