Recognized by sight: I had previously called this Austroboletus fusiformis until I could actually look at the spores. My error. That taxon has short AND broadly fusoid spores, unlike the ones of these collections. There is a cautionary tale for me here . . . make a better ID after I have the specimens in my lab.
Based on microscopic features: Spores are long fusiform, ornamented about the broadest portion.
