When: 2011-10-30
(46.367° 13.7508° 890m)
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Code: Bot_568/2011_DSC0728

Habitat: Steep mountain slope NNW oriented, mixed forest, Picea abies and Fagus sylvatica dominant; calcareous bedrock, however acid local ground possible, next to the mountain trail, in shade, humid place, partly protected from direct rain by tree canopies, average precipitations ~ 3.000 mm/year, average temperature 3-5 deg C, elevation 890 m (2.900 feet), alpine phytogeographical region.

Substratum: forest ground, leaf and needles litter.

Place: Lower Trenta valley, next to the trail from Trenta village to Planina Lepoč, somewhat above the last farmhouse, East Julian Alps, Posočje, Slovenia EC

Comments: No idea what could this pale-blue quite dense fibrous saliva be? It looked neither like a myxomicete nor like excrement. Possibly non-fungal. A kind of algae? To some extent similar to Trentepohlia aurea (except color, of course)? A few patches in the radius of half a meter (1.5 feet) found. Can anybody help in determination?
