APOTHECIA: lecanorine; disc medium to dark brown, some tan or yellow pruinose, flat, C-; rim thick, prominant, thalline, even; epihymenium brown, with tiny POL+ white granules or crystals; hymenium clear; hypothecium clear; aphithecium with large POL+ white crystals, slightly discontinuous algal layer, cortex thicker below
