mushroom to find in western Mexico. Listed as an eastern NA species. But this specimen certainly looks like the very distinctive S. eximius. Also interesting (to me) is that I hardly ever find this locally common variety (here in eastern Pennsylvania) in oak woods; almost always find it in hemlock woods.
