From the illustrations on slimemold.uark.edu and description on hiddenforest.co.nz of Trichia decepiens seems to have a shorter stalks and olivaceous brown color. While Hemitrichia clavata has a longer stalk and is yellow and is identical to Hemitrichia calyculata except for spore size and the shape of peridium.
I wonder if the yellow ones are actually Trichia decepiens? I’ve had a really tough time finding literature on either taxa.
