Observation 129757: Inocybe (Fr.) Fr.
When: 2012-09-23

Notes: Small tan Inocybe sp. with fibrous cap and stipe on moss in mixed woods. Wooly Bear caterpillar (Pyrrharctia isabella) was a bonus. Spores are smooth and elongate ellipsoids, some teardrop shaped. 20 Spore average size was 9.5 × 5.5 µm with Qm = 1.7. Encrusted metuloid pleurocystidia are abundant and some turn faintly yellow in 5% KOH.
