No herbarium specimen

Notes: Single fruitbody found on bare soil beneath conifers. Appears to be somewhat damaged by mycophagous Diptera larvae. Incredibly dry summer conditions. This sequestrate form of Cortinarius also known as Thaxterogaster pinque (or pinquis).
