Observation 130336: Microglossum rufum (Schwein.) Underw.

When: 2012-11-16

Collection location: Chase, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]

Who: Phil Yeager (gunchky)

No specimen available

Growing in leaf litter and other debris on top of a dead Norwegian Maple stump. At first I thought that it was Neolecta irregularis, but there are no Pines within a hundred yards of this site. Stumped on this one. No pun intended.

Thanks Irene. I was considering M. rufum, but when I zoomed in on the top photo the heads on some were spathula shaped which caused me to post spathularia.
