Recognized by sight: need to see veins to convince me of the species, apothecia don’t look flat/horizontal enough to be P. horizontalis, nor can I see the tell-tale concentric dimples on the upper surface which correspond to the concentric lines of rhizines below which you’d expect for that genus. Maybe P. neckeri or something in the P. polydactylon group?

I’ll give up on lichens ;)
I just can’t put one ID correctly. So often did I find Peltigera horizontalis and so long did it take for me to be somewhat sure of an ID only to learn I am not again. Thanks for your help!
