This hard crust fungus was growing on a fallen log in a dry forest in the Caribbean. There are perithecia on the red portions.

Recognized by sight: No too many red-and-black perithecial crusts out there: My guess is an Hypoxylon (maybe cinnabarinum?), but without a look at the spores and a bit of a clearer look at the stromatal surface it’s going to have to stay a guess. Anyone else know of other red crusty perithecial asco?
