Observation 131316: Lactarius vinaceorufescens A.H. Sm.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Medium sized mushroom with adnate gills, and white latex becoming yellow. Stipe hollow, but may have been stuffed. white. Gills turning reddish brown,close,forked, and in portions intervenous. Pileus fibrillose-granular with central umbo (mammilate), pinkish-red over a white background.

Walt, if you can keep iding these lactarius species, I’ll buy you a good bottle of wine and a two pound lobster. Lactarius are killing me with their taste and aromas. I have a hard time telling my wife if she is cooking with bacon or onions. LOL. Thanks again.
