Growing on the ground near trail in mixed woods.
Caps up to 5 cm across.
Spore print purplish brown.
Spores ~ 7.9-9.3 X 5.0-6.1(6.9) microns, smooth, elliptical with a germ pore.
Cheilocystidia mostly in clusters, ~ 40 X 16 microns, clavate.
Some scattered pleurocystidia ~ 50 X 17 microns, utriform.
Haven’t yet found any match in A. Smith’s Psathyrella book.
