Observation 132047: Ciboria rufofusca (O. Weberb.) Sacc.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: One found, growing in conifer litter. Cap 4 mm across, stem 13 mm long.

Asci 75 microns long, immature spores 6 × 2, paraphyses 1 micron wide. No amyloid reaction observed.

@Gerhard: I brought the thing home with a bunch of stuff it was growing from. No cone scales, only needles at various stages of decay. And there were no plants growing in the vicinity.

@Britney: Thanks. Your area is more or less my area; no wonder we’re finding the same things. It’s just not fair that you’re seeing hundreds of them and I found only one. Would have missed it, had it not been for a (not much bigger) Mycena close to it.
