Observation 132167: Morchella deliciosa Fr.
When: 2013-04-20
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found these in the beech and tulip poplar woods. Kind of early for them considering the chilly weather and the current size of tulip poplar leaves.

Good to hear from you, Martin. An attempt at humor I suppose? :-)

Actually, I haven’t tried them for a couple of reasons. First of all, as you perspicaciously pointed out, not enough for a meaningful meal. Second, I collected these in an area that I wouldn’t exactly call “ecologically pristine”. In a few days I will get some more from the same location to add to this first meager crop that is being dried as I write these lines. I will set them aside and feed them later to someone like you, my friend, with a good sense of humor. :-)

Hi I.G.

Did they strike you as delicious? Maybe they were too few to get a good sense of flavor…,
