Kuo, M. (2004, August). Galerina marginata. Retrieved from the MushroomExpert.Com Web site: http://www.mushroomexpert.com/galerina_marginata.html He cites many morphological differences in group per 2001 study of genus. One used to be called the deadly lawn Galerina but all species now thought to grow on wood—hardwood or conifers. Partial veil but fragments frequently missing. Slimy cap when wet or fresh.

These mushrooms were in my yard in grass next to a spruce tree. Could not see any visible mycelium on base of stem or above ground. They are around 3-6 cm. long. Cap is 2-3 cm. Stem is 3-6 mm. thick. Hope that helped?

Also, the habitat looks like lawn? Any mycelium at base?
