Observation 132345: Chlorophyllum rhacodes (Vittadini) Vellinga
When: 2013-04-23
( 10m)
Who: Phungus
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Growing in grass near footpath, under Phoenix canariensis palms. The stems seem to be unusually thick, perhaps bloated with moisture due to the very heavy rains we have had (note split stem). Caps up to 20cm in diameter, slightly swollen base to the stem but no obvious volva; veil ripped apart and hanging in tatters from the edge of the cap. Spore print white on grass beneath mature caps. 7-8 growing in a 2 meter radius.
